Our Animal Weathervanes celebrate the strength, beauty, movement, and personality of creatures both familiar and extraordinary. From horses, foxes, rabbits, elk, buffalo, and farm animals to carousel figures, mascots, and legendary creatures, each design transforms a meaningful subject into an enduring work of architectural art.
Every sculpture is individually handcrafted by SkyArt Studio & Gallery. We shape each figure in copper using traditional metalworking techniques, carefully developing its proportions, expression, movement, and distinctive character.
Displayed on a home, barn, stable, estate, business, garden pavilion, or traditional cupola, these handcrafted designs create memorable architectural focal points while providing dependable wind direction.
Handcrafted Copper Sculpture
Each SkyArt creation begins as a flat sheet of copper. Depending on the design, we may produce a full-dimensional sculpture, a traditional swell-body figure, or a carefully shaped silhouette.
We individually cut, form, assemble, and finish every piece by hand. This allows us to capture the details that give each creature its recognizable personality—from the flowing movement of a horse and the alert posture of a fox to the commanding presence of an elk or buffalo.
Because each sculpture is handcrafted, subtle variations ensure that every finished piece remains a unique original.
Wildlife, Horses and Farm Animals
Animals have appeared in architectural ornament and traditional weathervane design for centuries. They can represent strength, freedom, loyalty, courage, good fortune, family heritage, regional identity, or a personal connection to nature.
Our collection includes wildlife, horses, farm animals, woodland creatures, custom mascots, and imaginative figures inspired by history, mythology, and individual commissions.
Many designs began as special requests from homeowners, businesses, schools, farms, equestrian properties, and organizations seeking artwork with personal meaning.
Custom Animal Weathervanes: Sizes, Assemblies and Finishes
Our animal weathervanes are available in 24-inch, 30-inch, and larger custom sizes. We can help determine the proper scale based on your building’s height, roofline, viewing distance, and architectural proportions.
Standard assemblies include two spun copper balls, solid brass directional markers, brass retaining rings, and a stainless-steel mast engineered for smooth rotation and dependable performance.
Standard finishes include faux bronze or verdigris patina. Genuine 23-karat gold leaf is available for an additional charge and may be used to highlight selected details or create a striking gilded sculpture.
Designed for Homes, Barns and Estates
A handcrafted animal design adds distinction and personality to homes, country estates, barns, farms, equestrian properties, wildlife retreats, garden pavilions, businesses, schools, civic buildings, and decorative cupolas.
The right figure can reflect a favorite species, family story, regional tradition, business identity, school mascot, or lifelong passion.
Creating a Custom Design
If you do not see the exact animal or composition you have in mind, SkyArt Studio & Gallery can create an original commission.
We work with homeowners, architects, builders, businesses, schools, and organizations to transform ideas, photographs, drawings, logos, and meaningful subjects into handcrafted copper sculpture.
We also provide guidance on sizing, finishes, installation, and mounting requirements throughout the commission process.
