Verdigris Arrow Weathervane
Our Verdigris Arrow Weathervane brings one of the oldest and most recognizable weathervane forms into a clean architectural silhouette. The long horizontal arrow creates a strong profile against the sky, while the verdigris finish gives the copper the character and appearance of a naturally aged piece.
Handcrafted in copper by SkyArt Studio & Gallery, each Verdigris Arrow Weathervane is individually fabricated with careful attention to proportion, balance, detail, and durability. The silhouette construction produces a crisp, recognizable profile while durable metals are incorporated into the fabrication where needed for strength and long-term outdoor use.
The arrow is one of the most enduring forms in weathervane history. Its simple shape is particularly well suited to the original purpose of the weathervane—indicating wind direction—while also providing a strong decorative element at the highest point of a building. Historic arrow weathervanes range from very simple forms to more elaborate examples incorporating pierced details, scrollwork, lettering, dates, and other ornamentation. The Smithsonian Institution’s collections include material documenting the history and variety of American weathervanes.
The Verdigris Arrow Weathervane continues this architectural tradition in a handcrafted contemporary piece. Its elongated form remains clearly visible from the ground, while the verdigris finish adds depth and an aged appearance that complements many architectural styles.
The proportions and details of the arrow can also be adapted to complement the architecture on which it will be displayed. This makes the form particularly suitable for custom work in which dimensions, decorative details, dates, lettering, symbols, or other design elements are developed for a particular building or setting.

The Verdigris Arrow Weathervane comes with our standard assembly, including two copper balls, brass retainer rings, a brass directional set, and stainless-steel mast. We use high-quality materials and components throughout the assembly with an emphasis on durability, proper function, and long-term outdoor performance.
Although shown in verdigris, the finish can be customized in faux bronze, verdigris, or 23-karat gold leaf. Natural copper is also available and will gradually develop its own distinctive patina through exposure to the elements.
SkyArt Studio & Gallery can assist with proper sizing, installation questions, and custom design requirements for the Verdigris Arrow Weathervane. Diagrams or schematics can also be provided when coordination with contractors or other installation professionals is required, helping ensure that the finished weathervane is appropriately scaled and installed for its architectural setting.
