Ted Williams Weathervane
Our Ted Williams Weathervane captures the unmistakable profile of one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. Depicted at the plate with bat in hand, the strong silhouette celebrates the legendary Boston Red Sox slugger and creates a distinctive image that reads clearly against the sky.
Handcrafted by SkyArt Studio & Gallery, the Ted Williams Weathervane was individually designed with careful attention to proportion, balance, detail, and durability. The silhouette format emphasizes the recognizable stance of the ballplayer while translating the subject into a functional piece of architectural art.
Known as “The Splendid Splinter,” Ted Williams spent his entire Major League career with the Boston Red Sox. In 1941 he batted .406, becoming the last American or National League player to finish a season at .400 or better. Despite losing nearly five full seasons of his baseball career to military service, Williams finished with a .344 career batting average and 521 home runs and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966. Williams’ remarkable story extended well beyond baseball. He served as a Marine Corps pilot during World War II and was later recalled to active duty during the Korean War, making his achievements on the baseball field all the more extraordinary.
