The Shad Banner Weathervane

The Shad Banner Weathervane draws upon that regional history while translating the familiar fish profile into architectural ornament. The combination of the shad silhouette and elongated banner form creates a design that is especially appropriate for coastal and river communities, maritime settings, public buildings, businesses, and private residences with a connection to New England.

The proportions of the banner can also be adapted to complement the architecture on which it will be displayed. This makes the form particularly suitable for custom work in which dimensions, lettering, dates, symbols, or other design elements are developed for a particular building or setting.

The Shad Banner Weathervane comes with our standard assembly, including two copper balls, brass retainer rings, a brass directional set, and stainless-steel mast. We use high-quality materials and components throughout the assembly with an emphasis on durability, proper function, and long-term outdoor performance.

The finish can be customized in faux bronze, verdigris, or 23-karat gold leaf. Natural copper is also available and will gradually develop its own distinctive patina through exposure to the elements.

SkyArt Studio & Gallery can assist with proper sizing, installation questions, and custom design requirements for the Shad Banner Weathervane. Diagrams or schematics can also be provided when coordination with contractors or other installation professionals is required, helping ensure that the finished weathervane is appropriately scaled and installed for its architectural setting.
