Sailboat Weathervane
Our Sailboat Weathervane captures the familiar sight of a sailing vessel moving across the water, with its full sail rising above a flowing line of sculpted waves. The long horizontal composition creates a strong profile against the sky while giving the design a wonderful sense of movement.
This Sailboat Weathervane began with a design supplied by the client. SkyArt Studio & Gallery translated the original concept into a handcrafted copper weathervane, carefully considering proportion, structural requirements, balance, and movement so the client’s design could function properly as a weathervane while preserving the character of the original artwork.
Sailing has evolved from a practical means of transportation into a pastime enjoyed for the simple pleasure of being on the water. Small recreational sailboats have become a familiar sight on bays, lakes, and coastal waters, where sailing combines relaxation, skill, and a connection with the wind and water. With its combination of sail, water, and traditional metalwork, the Sailboat Weathervane is particularly well suited to coastal homes, waterfront properties, boathouses, and anyone with a connection to sailing and the sea.

The weathervane comes with our standard assembly, including two copper balls, brass retainer rings, a brass directional set, and stainless-steel mast.
The finish can be customized in faux bronze, verdigris, or 23-karat gold leaf. Natural copper is also available and will gradually develop its own distinctive patina with exposure to the elements.
SkyArt Studio & Gallery can assist with proper sizing, installation questions, and custom design requirements to ensure the finished weathervane is appropriately scaled for its setting.
