Pointed Scroll Banner Weathervane
Our Pointed Scroll Banner Weathervane combines the traditional form of an architectural banner with graceful scrollwork and pointed finials. Its long horizontal silhouette creates a strong decorative profile that reads clearly against the sky while giving the design the character of an architectural ornament.
Handcrafted in copper by SkyArt Studio & Gallery, each Pointed Scroll Banner is individually fabricated with careful attention to proportion, balance, detail, and durability. The silhouette construction provides a crisp outline while durable metals are incorporated into the fabrication where needed for strength and long-term outdoor use.
Banner-style weathervanes have a long place in the history of architectural ornament. Historic examples ranged from simple banners and arrows to more elaborate forms incorporating symbols and decorative devices. The Smithsonian Institution’s collections include material documenting the history and variety of weathervanes, including banners, arrows, and other traditional designs.
The proportions of a banner can also be adapted to complement the architecture on which it will be displayed. This makes the form particularly suitable for custom work in which dimensions, decorative details, dates, or other design elements are developed for a particular building or setting.

The Pointed Scroll Banner Weathervane comes with our standard assembly, including two copper balls, brass retainer rings, a brass directional set, and stainless-steel mast.
The finish can be customized in faux bronze, verdigris, or 23-karat gold leaf. Natural copper is also available and will gradually develop its own distinctive patina with exposure to the elements.
SkyArt Studio & Gallery can assist with proper sizing, installation questions, and custom design requirements. Diagrams or schematics can also be provided when coordination with contractors or other installation professionals is required, helping ensure that the finished weathervane is appropriately scaled for its architectural setting.
