Oak Leaf and Acorns Weathervane
The Oak Leaf and Acorns Weathervane brings one of nature’s most enduring forms into handcrafted copper architectural art. Sculpted oak leaves and acorns create a graceful composition that is immediately recognizable while retaining the strength and simplicity needed for a striking silhouette against the sky.
Inspired by the oak tree, the design combines the beauty of the natural world with traditional copper craftsmanship. The result is a weathervane equally suited to a country home, barn, garden structure, cupola, or architecture where a timeless natural motif feels at home.
Inspired by the Oak
For centuries, the oak has been admired for its strength, longevity, and commanding presence in the landscape. Mature oaks can survive for generations, while the small acorn represents the beginning of that remarkable life cycle.
Together, oak leaves and acorns create a particularly meaningful design—one that can suggest endurance, growth, continuity, and the passage from one generation to the next.
The sculptural forms are also beautifully suited to copper. Broad leaves provide opportunities for shaping and dimension, while the smaller acorns add texture, balance, and visual interest to the composition.

Handcrafted Copper Sculpture
Every Oak Leaf and Acorns Weathervane is individually handcrafted using traditional copper-forming techniques developed through years of experience.
Rather than creating a flat metal silhouette, the leaves and acorns are formed into dimensional, swell-bodied shapes. Curves, contours, veins, and transitions are carefully worked to give the composition depth while preserving a strong overall profile when viewed from the ground.
The copper is shaped, refined, and assembled by hand rather than stamped or mass-produced. Because each weathervane is individually handcrafted, subtle variations in the forming process give every finished sculpture its own character.
A Natural Architectural Motif
The Oak Leaf and Acorns Weathervane works particularly well on homes, barns, carriage houses, garden buildings, cupolas, estates, and other structures surrounded by a natural landscape.
Its subject is traditional without being overly formal. From a distance, the sweeping leaves create movement and an elegant silhouette, while closer viewing reveals the dimensional copper work and individual acorns.
The design can also carry personal meaning. For a family home or property intended to endure through generations, the oak provides an especially fitting symbol of strength, growth, and continuity.
Available Finishes
The Oak Leaf and Acorns Weathervane is available in natural copper or with hand-applied decorative finishes including faux bronze and verdigris patina. Selected details may also be accented with genuine 23-karat gold leaf.
Natural copper gradually changes as it is exposed to the elements, developing a rich patina that complements the organic character of the oak leaves and acorns.

Custom Made by SkyArt Studio
Every SkyArt Studio weathervane is individually commissioned and handcrafted rather than mass-produced. Original designs can begin with an idea, drawing, photograph, historical reference, architectural detail, or personal subject and evolve into a unique piece of copper sculpture.
The Oak Leaf and Acorns reflect this approach beautifully. Forms taken directly from nature become a handcrafted piece of architectural art, combining sculptural copper work with one of the most enduring traditions of the American weathervane.
SkyArt Studio can also create custom botanical and nature-inspired weathervanes based on particular trees, leaves, flowers, landscapes, or other meaningful subjects.
