Lake Trout Weathervane
The Lake Trout Weathervane celebrates one of North America’s most admired cold-water game fish. With its streamlined body, deeply forked tail, and graceful profile, the lake trout creates a striking sculptural silhouette that reflects both strength and elegance.
Handcrafted in dimensional copper, this swell-bodied weathervane features exceptional depth and detail. Carefully formed fins, flowing body lines, and realistic contours give the sculpture a natural sense of movement while creating a bold profile designed to be appreciated against the open sky.
A Symbol of Northern Waters
Lake trout inhabit the cold, clear lakes of the northern United States and Canada, where they have long been prized by anglers for their size, endurance, and beauty. Their quiet strength and distinctive markings have made them an enduring symbol of wilderness lakes and outdoor recreation.
The Lake Trout Weathervane is an excellent choice for lake homes, mountain cabins, lodges, fishing camps, boathouses, waterfront properties, and anyone who enjoys the beauty of freshwater fishing.

Handcrafted Copper Construction
Each Lake Trout Weathervane is individually handcrafted using traditional metalworking techniques. The dimensional copper body is carefully shaped and assembled to create a substantial sculptural figure with strength, balance, and lasting visual appeal.
The weathervane is supplied with SkyArt Studio’s standard assembly, including two copper balls, brass retainer rings, a brass directional set, and a stainless-steel mast.
Available finishes include natural copper, faux bronze, verdigris patina, and genuine 23-karat gold leaf.
Choosing the Right Size
Proper scale is important when selecting a weathervane. Roof height, viewing distance, and the overall proportions of the structure should all be considered before choosing a size.
