Kids on Truck Weathervane
The Kids on Truck Weathervane captures a wonderfully familiar scene—children riding together in the back of a pickup truck. Created at the request of a client, the design was developed as a strong silhouette that preserves the personality and movement of the original idea while remaining clearly recognizable against the sky.
The truck establishes the long horizontal profile of the composition, while the children rising above the truck bed bring life and character to the scene. Small details in their individual poses keep the figures distinct without sacrificing the bold outline that makes a silhouette weathervane successful when viewed from a distance.
Handcrafted in copper, the figure is designed as a fully functioning weathervane rather than simply a decorative silhouette. The composition is carefully balanced around its pivot point so that the completed piece can respond naturally to changes in wind direction.
Like many of SkyArt Studio’s custom copper weathervanes, this design began with a client’s personal idea and was translated into architectural art. Photographs, drawings, memories, and original concepts can all provide the starting point for a custom weathervane.
The Kids on Truck Weathervane is available in natural copper, with optional faux bronze, verdigris, or genuine 23-karat gold leaf finishes at an additional cost.
