Farm Animals Weathervane

Our Farm Animals Weathervane brings together a donkey, dog, cat, and rooster in a wonderfully playful stacked composition. Each animal has its own distinctive silhouette, creating a lively design that becomes especially striking when viewed against the sky.

Handcrafted in copper by SkyArt Studio & Gallery, the Farm Animals Weathervane is individually fabricated with careful attention to proportion, balance, detail, and durability. The arrangement transforms familiar farm animals into an unusual sculptural profile while retaining the traditional character of an American weathervane.

The combination of a donkey, dog, cat, and rooster also recalls the famous Brothers Grimm tale The Bremen Town Musicians. The Smithsonian describes the same four animals standing one atop another in its record of a sculpture inspired by the story. Learn about The Bremen Town Musicians at the Smithsonian

Animal subjects have a long history in weathervane design. The Smithsonian American Art Museum’s collection includes historic animal weathervanes, including a late 19th- to early 20th-century copper rooster weathervane.

The weathervane comes with our standard assembly, including two copper balls, brass retainer rings, a brass directional set, and stainless-steel mast.

The finish can be customized in faux bronze, verdigris, or 23-karat gold leaf. Natural copper is also available and will gradually develop its own distinctive patina with exposure to the elements.

SkyArt Studio & Gallery can assist with proper sizing, installation questions, and custom design requirements to ensure the finished weathervane is appropriately scaled for its setting.
