Early Soldier Weathervane
Our Early Soldier Weathervane presents the strong, recognizable profile of an early American soldier in a classic copper silhouette. The figure’s period clothing and stance create a distinctive historical image that reads clearly against the sky while lending the weathervane a traditional American character.
Handcrafted in copper by SkyArt Studio & Gallery, the Early Soldier Weathervane is individually fabricated with careful attention to proportion, balance, detail, and durability. Its silhouette construction emphasizes the soldier’s profile and gives the design a bold presence without unnecessary ornamentation.
Citizen soldiers played an important role in early American history. In colonial Massachusetts, local militia companies were organized for community defense, and by 1775 militia and minute men were central to the opening events of the American Revolution. The National Park Service history of the militia and minute men of 1775 offers an excellent look at how these early soldiers were organized, trained, armed, and dressed.

The weathervane comes with our standard assembly, including two copper balls, brass retainer rings, a brass directional set, and stainless-steel mast.
The finish can be customized in faux bronze, verdigris, or 23-karat gold leaf. Natural copper is also available and will gradually develop its own distinctive patina with exposure to the elements.
SkyArt Studio & Gallery can assist with proper sizing, installation questions, and custom design requirements to ensure the finished weathervane is appropriately scaled for its setting.
