Banner Weathervanes

Banner weathervanes have a long architectural tradition and can still be found atop historic churches, municipal buildings, cupolas, and other prominent structures. Their strong horizontal forms make them particularly well suited to displaying dates, names, symbols, and other details of significance.

At SkyArt Studio & Gallery, our Banner Weathervanes are individually handcrafted in copper and range from reproductions of historic banners to completely new custom designs. Dates commemorating the construction or dedication of a building are often incorporated into the design, along with decorative elements or subtle outlines of animals and other figures.

Banner weathervanes are typically constructed in silhouette form, with additional supports and copper cladding used where necessary to give the finished piece strength, dimension, and architectural presence.

Whether recreating an older banner or developing an original design for a new building, each SkyArt banner is made individually with careful attention to proportion, detail, and the structure on which it will be displayed.
