How Copper Is Produced

We build our weathervanes from large sheets of copper. Copper begins as ore mined from the earth and passes through several stages of processing before it becomes the sheet copper used in our studio. Depending on the type of ore, these stages can include crushing and concentrating the ore, smelting, refining, and finally forming the refined copper into usable products.
